Dmoz is also known as the Open Directory Project (ODP). It is a multilingual open content directory of Internet links, owned by Netscape and constructed / maintained by volunteer staff and editors.
As a result of their free submission policy, ODP has an enormous number of submissions; and as such, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for a website to be listed on Dmoz partner sites; which use the ODP data. These partners include AOL Search, AltaVista, HotBot, Google, Lycos and Netscape Search.
